The staff at Hunch Backpackers were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We found the rooftop terrace to be a great spot to unwind and take in the views. The honesty fridges, stocked with water and beer, were a convenient and thoughtful touch. Despite not using it, having a pool available was a nice bonus. And of course, the hot shower with good water pressure was a pleasant surprise. Although a bit isolated from the city center, the secure and comfortable environment made up for it. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The tour desk hooked us up with some sick activities like snorkeling in Zanzibar and exploring the vibrant nightlife in Dar es Salaam. The staff was super chill and made sure we had a dope time. Plus, the free Wi-Fi allowed us to stay connected and share our lit moments on social media!
The only thing we wished for was an epic party scene at the hostel. Don't get me wrong, the vibe was cool and everyone was friendly, but as young party-goers, we were craving for some wild parties right at the hostel.

Great value for money, with clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff at Hunch Backpackers were incredibly helpful and friendly, even storing our extra bags while we went to Zanzibar. The location was perfect for accessing the ferry and the CBD, and the secure environment made me feel safe and at home.
Menu for breakfast could be improved with more variety.

We had an amazing experience at Hunch Backpackers. the staff members, Persila and Hilda, were extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. the dormitory was spacious and had plenty of storage space for our belongings. the room was cool and comfortable, with marble floors and an en-suite bathroom. the beds were equipped with good mosquito nets and each had a lamp and a shelf with a socket. the hostel also had many power points available. the breakfast served on the rooftop kitchen was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. The location was convenient, with a beautiful beach less than ten minutes away and motorcycle or car taxis readily available. Cons: Can't think of anything 😊.

I chose Hunch Backpackers because it was conveniently located near Masjid Qiblatein which I really wanted to visit. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the satisfying meals served at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff were attentive and friendly.
Staff made bizarre errors, especially with food orders. Portions were small and not as ordered.

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The location was perfect, with easy access to the ferry and the city center. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast that was included in the price. The rooftop terrace provided a great place to relax, and the honesty fridges were a convenient touch. Neg: The distance from the city center was a little far.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond with their hospitality, even organizing a delicious takeaway breakfast for our early morning bus ride. The double room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The facilities, including the pool and dining area, were top-notch, and the wifi was excellent.
